I have been there. Not much 'free and easy' activities. The biggest decision you have to make is for the resort you will be staying at.

hmm.. so getting a 'holiday package' will be better or self plan?

you know those natas fair n such mostly have that and seems very complicated especially when there are so many companies to choose from.

You plan should be in the particular resort. If your main purpose is to dive then find out which resort is close to a nice atoll. The travel agent would be useful for information like that. They will have a range of packages for various resorts and can tell you which is best for what. Also you can get packages like dive trips packaged into the total. Even if it is not much cheaper at least you can make use of the NATAS credit card deals.
